Kids’ Clothing That Survives Real Life — Without Sacrificing the Magic
There’s a very particular frustration that comes with buying beautiful clothes for a child. You choose carefully — the soft fabric, the delicate detail, the colour that feels just right — and three washes later, it’s faded, misshapen, and relegated to the back of the drawer.
At Kiko Kids, we started from a different place. What if the clothes you loved for your children could actually keep up with them?
That question is at the heart of everything we design.
Where Our Clothing Comes From
Kiko Kids was founded by a proud mum of three in Sunnyhills, Auckland — built on the belief that childhood should be full of magic, and that the clothes children wear every day should be part of that magic, not a compromise around it.
Our clothing range is inspired by the **English countryside**: soft fabrics, gentle colours, and that particular quality of something well-made and understated. Classic silhouettes with just enough playful detail to feel special. Designed for repeated wear — because the pieces children love most are always the ones they reach for again and again.
What We Make
Everyday Tops
Relaxed, soft, and built for movement. These are the pieces that go under everything and outlast everything — washed endlessly, still looking like themselves.
Dresses
From simple smocks to more considered silhouettes, our dresses are designed to look effortless and feel even better. Soft enough for naps. Sturdy enough for an afternoon in the garden.
Knitwear
Gentle textures, thoughtful construction, colours that work across a whole season. Our knitwear is made to layer beautifully and to be handed down.
Accessories
The details that complete an outfit — hats, hair accessories, and the small things that make getting dressed feel like a little event.
The Design Philosophy Behind Kiko Kids Clothing
We think a lot about what it means for children’s clothing to be *both* beautiful and practical. For too long, those two things have been treated as opposites — as though a garment that looks lovely must be fussy, and something practical must be plain.
We don’t believe that.
The fabrics we choose are soft against small skin and hold up to real use. The finishes are considered without being delicate. The colours are gentle — not because we’re avoiding bold, but because we believe soft tones age beautifully and photograph better across all the seasons of childhood.
Every piece is designed to be worn more than once. Laundered. Lived in. And still feel worth reaching for.
Getting Dressed Shouldn't Be a Battle
If you have a child between two and five, you already know that morning getting-dressed negotiations are a real thing. We think about that too.
Simple constructions that children can participate in. Nothing that scratches or pinches. Clothes that feel comfortable from the first wear, not the tenth. Because when children feel good in what they’re wearing, getting dressed stops being a battle and starts being something they look forward to.
That shift — small as it sounds — changes the whole morning.
A New Zealand Brand, Designing for New Zealand Families
We’re based in Auckland, and we think about the way New Zealand families actually live — in homes that flow between indoors and out, through seasons that shift quickly, with children who move constantly between sand, grass, car seats, and kitchen floors.
Our clothing is designed to go with all of it. Seasonal without being impractical. Special without being untouchable.
